Our project ”Crossing the barriers”

Since December 2011 the Comenius project has been planned and it is supported by the EU. Hard of hearing children from Lubliniec in Poland, from Osnabrück in Germany, from Viena in Austria and Derby in the UK participate. Comenius projects support the cooperation and development of educational institutions in different countries, and on the 19th of November 2012  the first meeting of children and their teachers happened in Vienna. Creative stations, theater workshops, sightseeing tours, cooking and playing together... so you get closer!
The aim of the project "Crossing the barriers" is to develop a common play in Vienna within the next two years. The activities are intended to support the hard of hearing students in their development and in the increase of  autonomy and also encourage a cultural exchange. A total of five meetings are planned and our student delegation is also looking forward to the trips to the new friends.

Comenius programme - a short introduction

The Lifelong Learning Programme: education and training opportunities for all
The European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme enables people to take part in stimulating learning experiences, as well as helping to develop the education and training sector across Europe. Projects are intended not only for individual students and learners, but also for teachers, trainers and all others involved in education and training.
There are four sub-programmes which fund projects at different levels of education and training:
- Comenius for schools
- Erasmus for higher education
- Leonardo de Vinci for vocational education and training
- Grundtvig for adult education
Comenius: Europe in the Classroom
The Comenius Programme focuses on all levels of school education, from pre-school and primary to secondary schools. The Comenius actions aim to help young people and educational staff better understand the range of European cultures, languages and values. They also help young people acquire the basic life skills and competences necessary for personal development, future employment and active citizenship.
