Cover Letter and CV

During Polish language lessons students remembered, how to write a curriculum vitae and a cover letter. They were aware of the desirability of writing CV and cover letter as well as they learnt how to prepare themselves for a job interview. Students described and evaluated their professional experience, preparation, skills and professional interests. As a result of students independent work, essential documents for future job applications were prepared, using computer software. During lessons students learnt how to create their desired image.

A job interview with an employer

In an inn „ Uroczysko” students had the possibility to realize in practice tasks they had known on Polish and English lessons.. They could take part in a job interview, applying for a post of a cook or a cook assistant. Each of students had a meeting with a manager of the inn communicating verbally or in sign language in presence or without a translator. During the interview students had the possibility to do self- presentation as well answer the questions put by a person responsible for engaging the workers.

Letter of application

During an English lesson students consolidated the knowledge of expressions connected with writing a letter of application and filling the application form in. Students translated and categorized given expressions in chosen groups and made short personal information themselves. On the lesson were used labels and a whiteboard.

Overcoming the communication barriers
During a form period hearing and hearing impaired students learnt to overcome the communications barriers doing a common task.  A common aim motivated students to search inventive solutions.  Joy, drawn on achievement of a joint goal makes the need of good understanding one another stronger.

Stress under control
Aims: Making the knowledge on the esence of stress deeper. Developing the abilities of reducing stress and preventing its harmful for health effects. Creating active and reliable attitude to own health.
Forms: group work.
Methods: workshops, a brainstorm, a show, practical exercises.

Self presentation
On English class students recalled the vocabulary related to free time activities, which were divided into 3 categories. With the sub-questions students presented themselves and gave basic information about themselves. These activities were designed to prepare students for self-presentation in everyday life when they meet with friends.

I can name and divide emotions
Aims: Strengthening social ties, improve communication and collaboration. Breaking the shyness. Developing skills to express students feelings and thoughts. Building and strengthening self-esteem.
Form: collective
Methods: workshop, demonstration, practice
Materials: labels, photos, foam mats, foam puppets, string, clips, magnets, tiger mascot.

Relaxing activities
Relaxing activities with elements of P. Denison's educational kinezjology take place in the Room of  Experiencing  the World  with accompaniment of music
Aims of the activities: Relaxing the muscle tension and balancing emotions. Strenghten of the concentration and coordination work of both hemispheres. Making the visual perception better. Improving communication skills.
Forms: Group work.
Methods: a show, practical exercises.
