A main report from the first partner meeting of schools in Vienna in Austria

The place of the first meeting of the partner schools was the capital of Austria- Vienna, where there is one of our partner schools. In the meeting took part the representatives of all partner countries, so Austria, Germany, Poland and England.
Monday, 19th November
On this day about 4.30 p. m the official welcoming the guests by a Headmaster, teachers and students of Austrian school took place. Next teachers and students were taking part in the meeting introduced themselves each other in English and sign languages. The teachers thanked the representatives of Austrian school for taking the role of the host of the meeting and handed in the small gifts, made at each of the partner schools, aiming at commemorating this meeting. Next the representatives of the Austrian school showed the earlier prepared in English presentations on their country and school. The day ended with the evening walk around the Vienna and visiting the famous Giant Ferries Wheel in the Prater Amusement Park.
Tuesday, 20th November
On that day teachers divided into two groups took part in theatre workshops led by professional actors and instructors. They were workshops: “ Expressing the emotion”, “The drums, music and sounds” and “ An experiment, reflection and criticisms” At the same time students were attending the integrative activities, making memorial Comenius printed inscriptions on the T-shirts and painting the symbols of partner schools on the walls of the hosting school. They had the possibility to know each other better, improve their communication in English and develop their art abilities. Students with the teachers’ help were also logged in the Twinspace on the area of our project.
Wednesday, 21st November
Teachers still divided in groups were participating in the theatre workshops, while the students were getting to know the monuments and interesting places of Wien like Schönbrunn Castle. The workshops were named “How to perform the play with students” and “ The elements of sign languages as a part of drama” After lunch students divided also into two groups were involved in the theatre workshops and making the first rehearsals of the first act of our “criminal story”. Next they together with Austrian students and teachers were preparing the traditional Austrian dishes: “Wienner Schnitzel” “Knödel”, “Apfelstrudel” and “Sachertorte”. That evening was graced with traditional Austrian dinner, connected with great dance and music shows and puppet performance “The Basilisk. A saga from Vienna“. All those attractions were presented by Austrian teachers and students. In the evening all guests were visiting the Austrian Christmas market and some monuments of Wien.
Thursday, 22nd November
In the morning all guests were visiting Wien and its most famous monuments. After lunch  the coordinators and chosen teachers from each partner school met to discuss further preparing the theatre criminal play: ”A murder in a Comenius express” and the initial draft of the first edition of Comenius Magazine. We were discussing on the content and ways of expressing the play as well the content, form and time of printing the magazine and the project website. After the lunch all participants of the meeting visited the Danube Tower and then were enjoying the farewell dinner. Friday, 23rd November
The teachers from Austria, Germany, England and Poland were visiting together the school and classes as well they discussing on didactic and educational issues. At this time students still were getting to know Wien and were taking part in free time activities. Then all participants of the meeting were watching the film on countries and schools in Germany and Poland. It was the last day of our meeting. All participants were leaving Austria with many new experiences and great impressions. Thank you very much the school in Austria, the headmaster, teachers and students for their hospitality and care.
