A SYNOPSIS OF A LESSON
Main issues:
Better ability to preset personal details and work experience as well own skills and interests. Filling in the application form in proper way
Subject: Letter of application - useful expressions
Lesson goals:
A student knows expressions connected with writing the letter of application
A student correctly categorizes the expressions into chosen groups
A student understands and fills in the parts of the application form in a proper way
Didactic materials
a whiteboard
labels with magnets presenting expressions
a computer
Stage:
Warm-up
Students think what kinds of information are concerned in writing letter of applications. They exchange ideas.
Controlled practice:
Students give the names the group of information: personal details, education, skills etc
They join given on the whiteboard English expressions and their Polish translations
They preset them in verbal way and in sign language
Semi- controlled practice
Students fill in their work sheets of paper
They categorize given expressions into some groups named earlier: education, personal details etc
Free practice
Hearing impaired students write the short letter of application, using given expressions
Hearing students present information verbally, using given expressions.
